Gozo

View all Hotels

This tiny fishing and farming island is quieter and more striking than its larger, more modern neighbour – Malta. As a result, the pace of life here is deliberately slow and traditional.

Prehistoric temples, the cultural capital of Victoria and baroque churches are dispersed over an island of lush green fields, rugged cliffs, flat-topped hills and steep valleys.

The island’s spectacular landscape is only equalled by its rich marine environment – the seas surrounding Gozo are renowned for some of the best snorkeling and diving in the Med.

Gozo Sightseeing
Ggantija Temples are the oldest, freestanding, man-made structures in the world, outdating even the mighty pyramids.

Gozo Activities
Trekking is probably one of the best ways to explore this tiny island. If you want more than just a ramble, several tour companies arrange one- to four-day treks around the Gozo coastline.

Gozo Food
Gozo’s food is as rich as its history, with strong Sicilian and Moorish influences.

Gozo Drink and Nightlife
A good night in Gozo tends to revolve around an expensive bottle of vintage wine and some entertaining al fresco conversation. Marsalforn is the only place where you’ll find an excuse to put your dancing shoes on.

Gozo Shopping
It is surprising that Gozo, an island basked in sunshine for the majority of the year, should have such a thriving woollen industry.
